i feel that my condition of state still remains in JC. 2 and a half years in army somehow or rather freezes my life. It seems like i was stopped momentarily @ the year 2004 and then unfreezed at the year 2006.

People around you begin to feel different. It's just not the same anymore.

One noticeable change is tat people and people are becoming more and more busy. cos the fast paced of university life certainly influences us.

There are some who slacked around, some who fooled around and some who studied hard.

Frens i have are actually paying for their university fees themselves and university to them is just a priviledge. call it adulthood. I could do nothing but feel respect for my peers. Cos i still can't really survived uni without any allowance.

Happiness to me is quite simple. ace the exams, find a gf and mahjong with friends. of course win the toto.

One week passed quite fast, and yet i feel that there's something missing. Maybe a sense of ahievement or rather a sense of longing to feel happy.

Now is to take a step at a time and see how it goes huh...

Consider costumes from the fin-de-siecle period in France: Circa
1880 - 1900. You do not have to choose French costumes. Cultural
influences on France during this period included those from India,
Japan, England, American, Turkey, Africa, Germany, and the Middle
East.

This theme presents a wide range of costuming possibilities. These
include:

Actors & Singers
Artists & Critics
Beggars & Thieves
Clowns & Circus Performers
Courtesans & Prostitutes
Dandies & Ne'er do Wells
Dancers (all kinds)
Gamblers
Gypsies & Bohemians
Magicians & Street Performers
Maids
Poets & Writers
Policeman & Detectives
Rogues & Con Artists
Soldiers & Sailors from many nations
Street Urchins Students & Intellectuals
Travelers and Immigrants from many nations

feverish. yet i still went for floorball trial. ok heard from dingyi that noone is out yet cos the no. of people is ard 20plus. So training start during september. Erm duno whether i am considered in the 'team'? What i feared is that before the ivp starts, there will be another selection for the team and then when i am out, the time n effort put in could actually be used for other stuff... hmmm...

anyway today went to bugis to scout for costumes for sportsball. Initially wana do the moulin rouge theme u know the guys wearing something like ewan mcgregor and the gers like a courtesan. lol. in the end we decided on gothic theme like count dracula or rather east european style. ok Shagged from floorball training. shall continue to improve.

Tutorials piling. now it's the time to do some work

Lecture notes really sux. they give another notation different from the one i used in JC. Somehow or rather it makes me confused. Call it stubborn or what, i dun like to learn new things.

It seems so simple during JC times and sadly to say VECTORS was one of the topic that i was blardie confident of. Now becos of the current set of notes that screw up my definitions and stuff. blah, blah. I feel darn demoralised.

I missed my notes, really wanna kicked myself for forgetting to bring my vector notes to the hostel.

Current status - Phy tutorial lagging, maths tutorial lagging. Computer tutorial lagging. Chem and Econs are on par.

My situation is bad. really bad. i should cut down on time wasting activities till i figure out on a solution.

I think maybe my studying method is wrong... I could take like 3 to 4 hours just to understand a single concept. Hence my progress is slow, and when i am stuck, i couldn't really turn to someone for help cos frens around me rather wack the tutorial 1st then slowly figure out the theory behind it.

Hence i am rather alone in such a way. and the notes aint doing any help. Been bothering jiunn yeong and jw for the past few days. Really must pei fu jiunn yeong, cos he seems to know every single thing and he explained quite good. It's a waste he's going to do a double degree in smu instead of engine. Wahha all the best to him man.

Think i need to do lots of stuff in the weekend.

Floorball trials @ 2030 SRC 22 August

flunk my dribbling drill - i just realised my left hand dribble is better than my right hand. A complete turn causes me to lose the ball.
flunk my passing drill p- erm cos the ball was too fast and too wide, in the end cant caught it, it was 1/2 out of the tries.

What's fortunate is that -

ace my shuttle run, actually i managed to finish 1st among the group beating a senior. It's like there are 5 lines across the court, u have to run to the 1st touch it and come back to the starting line and then go to the 2nd line and so on. Last line made me realised i wasn't as fit as i usually was - need to train.

Match play - wasn't really doing well, cos we were down by 3 goals, played with the school team. got thrashed. was playing defensive all the way. some intercepts and dribbling.

Verdict - by a stroke of luck, i made it into the top 20 for guys. Saturday is the real trial by the coach. well wish me luck then. lol

haiz - now sports plus studies, dun think got time to get involved in relationships... sianz.

before i sleep, i have this urge to blog this depressing theory about how couples get together.

It seems that when a girl or guy selects their gf/bf, it's always within their own pool of friends or rather as i termed it "aquaintances' aquaintance" - [i think it's grammatically flawed, but heck i like this term.=P]

Maybe this wierd theory of mine consist only a teeny weeny bit of truth inside, cos i believed that noone actually kinda fall in love at 1st sight and get together.

it's quite pathetic for singaporeans who develop their relationship from their pool of friends instead of approaching girls/guys not within their circle of frenship

erm one question what happens to guys or gers who don have much friends? are they gonna be left on the shelf n rot n die? or rather they select their other half from their small social circle of friends? isn't that quite pathetic?

hmm perhaps i have a wierd thinking or maybe i am just blabbering nonsense. i just feel that it's very pathetic if what i feel is true.

ok back to sleep.

watched click. an important lesson learned and can be applied into my situation now.

life isn't really all about working or rather mugging in uni. It seems that we should really slow down a bit.

Redirect our focus towards things that are more meaningful...

I think.

However, life isn't really like a movie where we get happy endings. It's not a fairytale afterall.

Digress a bit

That's why we always say the need to strike a balance between studying n socialising n stuff

But who can actually do that.

sacrifices or opportunity costs come in and it's up to individuals to really define what they actually want.

so for the time being, i will just slow down my pace a bit...

I am befuddled by the not so explict demeanor you shown.

stirring up emotions isn't your peccancy.

it's just the way how the game is played.

to do the right thing or not.

it depends on how well you played.

*blabbering nonsense and stuff.

flirting isn't really my call.

ignore this message.

It seems so obvious when the balance is breached.

I don't like the feeling of this.

well glad that i can decipher the codes.

OK an insight to the life of miserable engineering student kenvin teo.

Slogging into lecture theatres trying to catch some balls thrown by the lecturers. One thing to summarize the shit - the lecture notes are too brief. Talking about independent studying n reading here.

It really make me realised how precious hwachong jc notes are - like covering every aspect of the modules and stuff.

1stly must thank evelyn for being my senior a.k.a tour guide for the 1st week of school, bringing me around to where the com lab and then lending me notes to photocopy and stuff. Most importantly telling me where are the lecture rooms.

Well joined 3 orientation camps has its pros n cons. Pros is that suddenly you have lots of hi bye frens, or rather ntu is a reunion of pri sch, sec sch, jc, army mates. Saw lots of farmiliar faces and well knowing new friends and stuff. One thing to note : the grass is always greener on the south spine. NTU engine students u get what i meant.

Well it somehow seems that 3 ogs = lots of activities, typical 1st week timetable. Mon - interhall bash, tues - Engine/sports outing, Wed - Hall outing, Thurs - Sports bbq, Fri - MOS bash. It seems that lots of negative influences coming out of everywhere. Next not to forget the occasional lunch, supper, mahjong, chitchat session. It's hard to really get attached to a particular og group so that's why i always missed a few outings of diff groups cos rather i needed time to study.

One more phenomenon noticed is that the MOST enthu ogs are always influxed with biz and accountacy students. Why leh? cos they are following a timetable of 3 day/ 4 day workweek that gives them lots of free time to really play, gather, mingle and go out. Bless me though for engine students are relearning their a level paths, staying up late to bia unfinished tutorials and well while everyone is partying and u r in the lib mugging?

2nd week into school, tutorials started and it's not a really good experience. Haiz... On happy stuff, i got a lappie and well can start downloading my mtvs and rather i hope i can really hang in there...
